Hi - my name is Mike Poor and I am 15 years old. I live in the beautiful City of Roses
- Portland, Oregon. Portland is nestled in the Willamette Valley and is surrounded by skiing, beaches, hiking,
fishing, camping, and many other attractions. It's a great vacation area and offers something for everyone.
When the trip to China was offered it was an adventure to explore a land that is part of my own culture
and heritage. Venturing beyond the borders of my country was exciting, fun, and an experience that
will last my lifetime.
I was part of a delegation with 40 other students from all over Oregon and one from
Washington, including four leaders. We became great friends and looked forward to building new friendships
in China.
I am proud to be a Student Ambassador and represent our United States of America.
